Three years ago today my daughter, Lillian Ruth, was born @ 12:39 a.m. She weighed 1lbs2oz. She was also the New Year's baby in Maine for 2006. We missed the New Year's baby for the country by minutes... She was so tiny. So fragile. They brought her to the NICU. I was 24 weeks along. Way too early. She was doing ok for awhile. 24 hours later she was still with us. But things took a bad turn for her. Her lungs were just too weak. The Dr's came to my room and told us we should go to the NICU. They had her wrapped in a beautiful quilt. Brian held her for a few minutes and then he gave her to me. She was so beautiful. She looked a lot like me. I held her as she passed away. She was with us for 40 hours.
My sweet little girl,
Not a day goes by that we don't think of you. You have no idea how much your little life means to us... I know you and your brother are looking down smiling on your sisters. I know you sent them to us. We love you and miss you so very much!
Love,
Mommy, Papa, Charlotte and Maggie
ps... on another note the girls are both sick. Fun fun!! I will post some pictures from Christmas in the next couple days. Happy New Year everyone!

Hugs today - thinking of your sweet Lillian. I'm sure this time of year is hard for you but I'm glad you're able to look back.
As the Souza Family, you set the bar high for what family and strength are all about. All the mothers and fathers in your life have benefitted and have learned a lot from watching you be parents to all 4 of your kids from your pregnancies and beyond. Keep up the good work and we'll keep taking notes.
Sending balloons your way Brian and Lillian!
Thinking of you with much love today. I hope they feel better as well!
